FC Barcelona are just one win away from completing a domestic treble, having already claimed the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey. Though they fell agonizingly short of a Champions League final, it’s been a season of resurgence, driven in large part by the transformative work of new manager Hansi Flick.
Hansi Flick has worked miracles in his first season as the manager of the Catalan club and the reason for this has been his desire to work on his players and improve them to ensure they suit his tactical system. One of the most improved players in that regard is Ferran Torres.
Constant improvement
Torres was the first signing Barcelona made under Xavi Hernandez, bringing him from Manchester City in January, and he immediately hit the ground running in the Spanish tactician’s first half-season at the club. Playing off the left, the youngster was a regular starter.

However, the ex-Valencia forward’s first full season at Barcelona was underwhelming. He showed signs of improvement last season but got lost in what was a disappointing season as a whole for the club. Enter Hansi Flick.
So far this season, Ferran has established himself as one of the most important players for Flick, despite not being a starter. In 45 games across all competitions this season, the 25-year-old has scored 19 goals and provided 7 assists. More importantly, the 26 goal contributions have come in just 1921 minutes.
Barcelona set asking price
Now, as per Spanish report Fichajes, Barcelona are willing to make use of his good form and sell Ferran Torres in the summer and have set an asking price of around €50m. If some club was to make a suitable offer, the Catalan club would at least take a look at it.

Ideally, one would say that Barcelona should not be selling a player as useful as Ferran Torres, but the club’s financial situation is still not seamless enough for them to pass on good opportunities. However, the final decision could come to Hansi Flick.
Players like the Spanish attacker are very hard to find. Capable of playing anywhere across the forward line, he is the perfect squad player who does not complain about playing time. When Robert Lewandowski was ruled out for a crucial part of the season, Ferran stepped up admirably.
Unless a truly irresistible offer lands, Barcelona would be wise to hold onto the “shark” who’s just beginning to bare his teeth. Hansi Flick has already unlocked a new level in Ferran—and the best may still be yet to come.
