As Barca News Network has reported, citing COPE journalist Helena Condis, Kroupi is described as eager to secure a move to Catalonia this summer, with the Blaugranes identified as his preferred destination. The 20-year-old has also drawn interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks, but joining Hansi Flick’s squad appears to be his stated priority.
Kroupi’s appeal to Barcelona is not difficult to understand. The striker scored 13 goals during his debut Premier League season in 2025-26, contributing directly to Bournemouth’s qualification for European football. For a club scouting high-upside forwards at a potentially manageable cost, that output at 20 years old fits the profile Deco has been targeting.
The obstacle, however, is a familiar one. Bournemouth have no intention of selling Kroupi this summer and have set an asking price that reflects that position – a stance that mirrors Atlético Madrid’s immovable posture over Álvarez. The Premier League club hold the leverage here, and without a significant shift in their position, Barcelona face the prospect of another striker target slipping beyond reach before the window closes.
The situation places the Catalans in an awkward spot. Both club and player are reportedly aligned on the desire for a deal, but that bilateral enthusiasm counts for little when the selling club is not at the table. Bournemouth’s record asking price for Kroupi signals that they view any departure as something that would need to be forced by an offer impossible to refuse, rather than one they would actively facilitate.
Barcelona’s striker search also includes a look at other avenues. Fisnik Asllani, who had been monitored as a Bundesliga-based option, is now set to join RB Leipzig from Hoffenheim, removing another name from Deco’s list. The club’s evaluation of alternative forward profiles continues in the background, but no candidate has yet emerged as a straightforward solution to the positional gap Flick needs filled.
Given Bournemouth’s stated position, a deal for Kroupi this summer looks improbable. Barcelona retain what the source characterises as a slim chance, and that framing alone suggests the Catalan club will likely need to pivot again before the window shuts.
