FC Barcelona are evaluating a proposal from Ajax for La Masia left-back Jofre Torrents. As Diario SPORT reported, the Dutch club have proposed a loan that includes an option to buy 50% of the player’s transfer rights for €5 million.
Under the proposed structure, Ajax would cover Torrents’ full salary during the loan. Barcelona would retain the ability to buy back the percentage sold in the future, preserving a route to regain control of the player while generating a profit from the arrangement.
Barcelona are expected to seek a buyback clause as part of the deal. El Gol Digital reported that the buyback figure could be close to €20 million.
Torrents is regarded as one of La Masia’s promising left-backs and needs regular playing time to continue his development. A summer departure appears likely, with the player having received offers from Spain and elsewhere in Europe.
Barcelona have increasingly prioritised sales with buyback clauses as players develop away from the club. The decision on Torrents’ future will rest with the player and Barcelona, and it is expected to be resolved soon.
