Every top club, including FC Barcelona, has their own set of targets to pursue this summer. However, the Catalan giants have been rather slow in that regard so far. Unfortunately, the current financial situation of Barcelona does not let them to be too careless.

Yet, if there is one player that the club remains heavily linked to that is Liverpool forward Luis Diaz. Moreover, reliable sources have even confirmed that the Catalan giants are looking to possibly make another approach for him.

So far, however, Liverpool have not exactly been an easy side to negotiate with. Even when German giants Bayern Munich came forward with a formal proposal, Liverpool ending up rejecting that advance and made it clear enough that Diaz would have a very high price.

Liverpool eyeing two forwards this summer

However, the most recent developments in terms of Liverpool’s transfer plans could prove to be beneficial for Barcelona. According to MARCA, Liverpool are now pursuing the likes of Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike.

Both of these targets would be relatively expensive, and it is already clear enough that Liverpool have spent a lot of money this summer. The likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez have already joined the club this summer and their combined transfer fees likely exceeds the €200 million mark quite easily.

Barcelona could end up benefitting

Now, with Isak alone reportedly costing €120 million at the very least as a starting point for negotiations, Liverpool might need to generate some income at last. In that regard, if they can reach an agreement for their current transfer targets, they might just open the door for a Luis Diaz exit this summer and benefit Barcelona in their search for a new left-winger.

Fortunately for Barcelona, personal terms do not exactly seem to be that big of an issue. Instead, it is the transfer fee negotiations with Liverpool that could finally be eased once the English side decides to pursue their other transfer targets.

Moreover, since those players are also forwards, an overcrowding of the frontline could very well be possible. The €70 million-rated forward, as per Transfermarkt valuation, reportedly wants to leave this summer either way so both Barcelona and Bayern Munich will likely be on high alert if any such development occurs.
