New Barcelona signing already training at the club – Report

This upcoming season is one that FC Barcelona want to be as prepared for as possible. For that reason, the club is already working on various operations at once. However, when it comes to signings, Barcelona has been rather slow.

So far, the Catalan giants have only managed to secure one signing this summer. Beyond that, they have already struggled to sign the likes of Nico Williams, but the expected arrival of Swedish talent Roony Bardghji seems to be on track.

Joan Garcia is already training at Barcelona

BARCELONA, SPAIN - MARCH 11: Hansi Flick, Head Coach of FC Barcelona, looks on prior to the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Round of 16 Second Leg match between FC Barcelona and SL Benfica at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on March 11, 2025 in Barcelona, Spain.

As for their one signing so far, Spanish goalkeeper Joan Garcia, there is still a lot to be excited about. After all, while playing for Espanyol last season, Garcia was arguably the single most impressive goalkeeper in La Liga as they saved them from relegation.

Now, his commitment to his new club is just as apparent. As highlighted by MARCA, the Spaniard was already present at the Ciutat Esportiva and began his individual work and training ahead of the schedule put into place for the squad.

Looking to prepare for preseason

The other players are scheduled to return this Sunday and complete their medical tests before resuming training under Hansi Flick. However, just as some other players have decided to cut short their vacations, Garcia was also there to get into the best shape possible ahead of the preseason tour.

He also reportedly met Andreas Christensen there, a fellow Barcelona teammate who has also made his return to individual training a bit early. As for the Barcelona goalkeeper, his main training involved a one-hour gym session as his introduction to the club’s facilities.

Interestingly, the Spaniard is expected to be the club’s first-choice goalkeeper next season. However, he will be able to count on Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny for backup considering that he has just recently renewed his contract.
