It now seems clear enough that FC Barcelona will be pursuing the signing of Marcus Rashford this summer. For the Catalan giants, the Manchester United winger is now seen as the most viable option. Moreover, some big moves have already been made by Barcelona.

Instead of just waiting around even more, something that the club has frankly done quite enough of, they decided to move in for Rashford. Now, as per even the likes of Fabrizio Romano, both Barcelona and Manchester United have reached an agreement over Rashford’s transfer.

He will be joining the club on a loan deal with an option to buy included in the deal. As for the exact details of the operation, both the price of the purchase option and the amount that he will earn at the club have been revealed by various reports.

Rashford is seen as an impact substitute for now

However, another update now claims that the player is aware that he would be arriving at Barcelona as a player who is not exactly a starter. Instead, there seems to be more value being given to the idea of using him as a valuable substitute.

According to SPORT, Rashford would be arriving at Barcelona as a player who will add quality to Flick’s bench. Moreover, the German coach believes that he has the necessary spark to add some real quality and energy whenever he is brought on.

This would then mean that Hansi Flick will presumably stick with his trusted starting eleven and forwards from last season. The likes of Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, and Robert Lewandowski proved their quality together last season, and it seems, as per this report, that Flick could continue to make use of that trident.

The Barcelona preseason tour might be crucial

Still, a lot can change once the ball actually starts rolling. Flick reportedly wants Rashford at Barcelona as soon as possible so that he can integrate him within the squad and build his chemistry with the rest of his teammates.

Moreover, the 27-year-old Premier League winger would then travel with the squad for their preseason tour as well. Over there, it would be interesting to see if he can manage to change Flick’s mind and potentially book himself a starting position.
