Raphinha has won LaLiga’s Player of the Month award for September, following his success in August and giving Barcelona another measure of his outstanding start to the season. The forward scored seven goals and supplied two assists across four league matches, as the Blaugranes won all four and extended their advantage at the top of the table.

FC Barcelona’s official announcement confirmed that LaLiga named Raphinha its September MVP through the competition’s official website. The award is his second in a row and his third overall, after his first recognition in August 2024.

Raphinha

Raphinha contributed to decisive goals in Barcelona’s victories over Valencia, Levante, Racing Santander and Sevilla. He finished ahead of Kylian Mbappé and three other nominees, with his September output accounting for more than half of his 12 goals for the club at the time.

The month ended with emphatic consecutive hat-tricks against Racing Santander, in a 7-2 win, and Sevilla, beaten 3-1. Those performances helped make Raphinha’s contribution especially visible, while his use through the middle as well as from the wing added another dimension to Barcelona’s attack. His hat-trick performances formed a defining part of that run.

The back-to-back honours underline the consistency of Raphinha’s impact across the opening months of the campaign. With 12 league goals, he was also leading the Pichichi standings, five ahead of Lamine Yamal, Mbappé and Sergio Camello, who each had seven.

Barcelona’s September success was reflected elsewhere in LaLiga’s monthly awards: Hansi Flick was named Coach of the Month, while João Cancelo took Goal of the Month for his strike against Racing. Raphinha’s individual prize, however, was backed by a decisive return in front of goal and contributions across all four wins, as the Catalans strengthened their position at the summit.
