Gabriel Jesus Set to Join Barcelona in €10m Arsenal Deal

Barcelona have spent weeks waiting for a striker signing, with their pursuit centred on Julián Álvarez. The Catalans have accepted that a deal for the Atlético Madrid forward will not be possible this summer, and sporting director Deco has moved to secure an alternative. Fabrizio Romano reports that Barcelona have agreed a deal with Arsenal to sign Gabriel Jesus.

According to Romano, Jesus will join Barcelona on a permanent basis. The reported agreement would bring the Brazilian forward to the club after Barcelona’s pursuit of Álvarez became impractical.

Barcelona will reportedly pay €10m plus add-ons for the 29-year-old. Jesus is third in Arsenal’s striker pecking order, according to the report, and has been allowed to leave this summer.

Jesus is likely to arrive as a rotational option at striker for Hansi Flick. Barcelona also have Raphinha, Anthony Gordon and Dani Olmo available in attack, with Jesus set to strengthen Flick’s options for the 2026-27 season.

Barcelona had been linked with Fisnik Asllani, Serhou Guirassy and Nicolò Tresoldi in recent weeks, but none of those players will be joining Flick’s squad this summer, according to the report. Jesus has instead emerged as the alternative after the Álvarez deal became impossible.

Jesus is expected to travel to Barcelona within the next 24 hours to sign on a permanent basis. If completed as reported, the move would give Barcelona an experienced striker option for the 2026-27 campaign.
