FC Barcelona have been looking to sign a new left-winger this summer as their priority target. After all, it was reportedly Hansi Flick’s one major demand this summer from the club. Now, it seems likely that Barcelona will grant him that wish soon.

Recent reports have all been confirming that the club has decided to pursue the signing of 27-year-old Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford. In fact, the ‘here we go’ has also arrived from Fabrizio Romano and the deal looks set to go through.

A favourable deal for Barcelona

Now, another reputable journalist has also echoed the same statement and provided extra details. After all, it is importantly to remember that these finer details are the reason that tipped the scales in favour of Rashford becoming Barça’s chosen target.

According to Florian Plettenberg, the Rashford deal can now be considered a done deal. Moreover, he claims that it is ‘almost a free loan’ for Barcelona with no loan fee explicitly mentioned and with the player taking a significant salary cut as well:

“Full agreement with Manchester United has been reached. Understand it’s almost a free loan, and Rashford is taking a significant salary cut to make the loan move happen.”

Rashford has been the priority since weeks

The words of the journalist make it clear enough that this is a very favourable deal for Barcelona. Moreover, with the absence of an obligation to buy the player at the end of the season, there is no major risk involved with the operation either.

Moreover, Plettenberg confirmed that Rashford had been Barça’s priority target since quite a few weeks. As for Liverpool forward Luis Diaz, Barça’s reluctance to overextend themselves for him will likely now mean that he is considered an unfeasible target for La Blaugrana.
