FC Barcelona continue to consider various exit operations that can be wrapped up this summer. For the Catalan club, it is essential to generate some income and open up space to register other players. So far, however, progress has been limited for Barcelona.

The departure of Pau Victor was wrapped up smoothly enough, and other operations, such as Pablo Torre’s exit to RCD Mallorca, were also completed without too many hassles. Unfortunately, other operations have not been as straightforward.

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s departure continues to be complicated with the whole surgery fiasco now in the mix, and Oriol Romeu’s potential exit now also involves some unwanted tension. Still, there is another player that Barcelona would be willing to offload for a certain price.

According to Fichajes, Barça would be willing to listen to offers for 23-year-old left-back Gerard Martin if the right kind of price is involved. Reportedly, the asking price that has been set by Barcelona right now hovers around the €15 million mark, and if that is met, the club would be willing to negotiate an exit for him.

Despite his solid performances last season, the report claims that Hansi Flick wants to deploy fullbacks with more attacking prowess. Alejandro Balde fits that profile perfectly, and Jofre Torrents also performed quite well in the recent preseason friendly against Vissel Kobe.

With those two left-backs fitting the kind of profile that Flick wants in this team, Martin essentially gets pushed down the pecking order. While he offers more stability and balance, Flick’s desire to have his fullbacks play more aggressively could push the Barcelona defender away.

Moreover, since the player was promoted from Barcelona Atletic, any sale involving him would be pure profit for the club. Considering their current financial situation and the urgency to register players, it might just be a viable option to consider a potential sale.
