FC Barcelona have been working on the arrival of a left-winger for much of this summer transfer window. The Catalan giants needed a player who could offer the team a new profile on the wing, and it seems that they have found their man. In fact, Barcelona have made the signing official as well.

English forward Marcus Rashford has joined the club officially on a one-season loan deal. Arriving from Manchester United, this move is essentially an opportunity for him to revive his career. With many having given up on him, he now has a second chance under Hansi Flick.

After all, the German coach wanted a new left-winger and he has been delivered to him. Now, it remains to be seen just how committed Rashford is to the cause. Fortunately, his words after signing for the club officially are all positive things.

As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, this is what Rashford had to say about joining Barcelona and what it means to him:

“Barcelona is a club where people’s dreams come true. What the club stands for means a lot to me as well and it feels like I’m at home, and this is a big factor in my choice. I feel like I’m joining a family.”

His debut might not have to wait

Some positive words from the English forward, that is exactly the kind of addition that Barça needed. As long as he can remain committed to the club and offer his services to the best of his abilities, there is a good chance he could do well for the club.

Fortunately, fans of the club might not have to wait long to see him in action either. A recent update stated that the English forward has already received the green light to feature for Barcelona in their upcoming preseason game against Vissel Kobe.
