The biggest concern for FC Barcelona ahead of the clash against RCD Mallorca was related to player registrations. While the signings this summer had been promising, their registrations remained a concern. Fortunately, at least one of those signings is now registered.

As displayed on the official La Liga website, Spanish goalkeeper Joan Garcia has now been registered as a Barça player. The 24-year-old goalkeeper, formerly a player for RCD Espanyol, is now eligible to play in the Spanish First Division while representing La Blaugrana.

A massive step in the right direction for the Catalan club, but one that came with a lot of sacrifices and hurdles. From player departures to internal conflicts, getting to this point was far from easy.

Ironically, perhaps the easiest part was actually signing the player from Espanyol. Since then, however, the club has constantly been working on arranging and finalising his registration. Fortunately, that has now been sorted as well.

Interestingly, however, Marcus Rashford still does not appear to be registered on the La Liga website. Previously, a report claimed that Barça president Joan Laporta confirmed that both players would be available for the game against Mallorca, but only Garcia appears to be registered for now.
