None of the three players that FC Barcelona have away on loan at this point in time are likely to remain at the Catalan club beyond the upcoming summer transfer window.
One of these loanees, Alex Valles, has his future already almost defined, as the Italian side Como has decided to activate the clause to buy him permanently for €6 million.
Meanwhile, another loanee, Clement Lenglet, has also made up his mind to keep playing away from the Blaugrana club, even after his current loan period expires.
This is quite apparent from a report from SPORT, which claims that the French defender’s entourage has already informed Barcelona that he would like to stay at Atletico Madrid if an agreement between the two sides can be reached.
The Frenchman has established himself as a regular starter for Diego Simeone following his loan move to the Madrid club in the last summer transfer window. Now, he wants to stay with the Colchoneros going forward, as he understands they have a top-level project, will play in the UCL, and also have a chance of winning important titles.
The Blaugranes are currently demanding €10 million for such a transfer, as they believe his performances this season should revalue him as a player, while Atletico are looking to get him on free. The Mattress Makers are looking to convince the Catalans to part ways with him without a fee as it would allow them to save a significant amount in wages in the coming two years.
As far as the player himself is concerned, he has his mind made up to continue at Atletico Madrid. He had already blocked several offers to join Simeone’s side last summer, and had even agreed to renew his contract with Barcelona till 2027, deferring his wages to help the Madrid side take up a significant portion of his salary.
Al-Nassr have also made inquiries about his situation, but Lenglet is not too keen to go to Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, he is also clear that he is not going to play for the Blaugrana club anymore.
Relations between the two sides are quite good, but it remains to be seen whether the Frenchman will be able to see his desired move materialise and for whether Atletico will pay any fee for him.
