FC Barcelona and Robert Lewandowski have enjoyed a fruitful partnership since his high-profile arrival from Bayern Munich. The Polish striker has consistently delivered both through his performances and his remarkable numbers, cementing his role as a key figure in Barça’s attack.

However, with the veteran forward now 37 years old and his contract running down, questions about his future are starting to surface. Unless he renews his contract, his current deal is set to expire in June 2026, and reports from Italy suggest that another European giant is monitoring the situation closely.

According to Italian journalist Luca Cohen (via Mundo Deportivo), Serie A powerhouse AC Milan have initiated contact with Lewandowski’s camp through his agent, Pini Zahavi. The Rossoneri’s sporting director, Igli Tare, is believed to have reached out to assess the striker’s availability and understand whether Barcelona intend to extend his stay.

For Milan, the prospect of signing a proven, world-class goalscorer is enticing. The Italian club has a history of turning to experienced forwards for immediate impact, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud serving as recent success stories. Lewandowski would fit that same mold, bringing both pedigree and leadership to the San Siro.

The Polish international’s track record speaks for itself: 105 goals in 154 appearances for Barcelona so far, following a legendary spell at Bayern Munich, where he netted 344 times in 375 matches, alongside 73 assists. Even this season, he continues to be a reliable goalscoring threat.

However, a lot will depend on what Lewandowski himself wants and whether or not it aligns with what Barça wants. So far, his contributions to the club remain commendable, and he continues to be a goalscoring threat even this season.
