FC Barcelona did not have the most seamless start to the 2025-26 season, dropping valuable points in recent months. However, the Catalans have shown a notable recovery in form over the past few weeks and are gradually regaining their best levels.

Amid these fluctuations on the pitch, another story captured the attention of many Blaugrana fans: the surprise visit of club legend Lionel Messi to Spotify Camp Nou.

Messi made an unannounced late-night visit to the stadium, sharing several photos on his Instagram profile both inside and outside the Blaugrana temple. Alongside the images, he wrote an emotional message reflecting his enduring connection with the club:

“Last night I returned to a place I miss with all my heart. A place where I was immensely happy, where you made me feel a thousand times like the happiest person in the world. I hope that one day I can return, and not just to say goodbye as a player, as I never got to do…💙❤️”

This visit reignited speculation about a potential return of the Argentine star to Barcelona. On the subject, former midfielder Andrés Iniesta, who shared many seasons with Messi at the club, spoke to MARCA:

“I don’t know if there is a rift or not. I can’t say more beyond what Leo means to Barça,” he said. “That will never change, no matter who is there, at any time. I don’t know if he will return at some point and in what capacity, but the most important thing is what Leo means for Barça.”

In addition to speaking of Messi’s return, as reported by SPORT, Iniesta also talked about his heir-apparent in this Barcelona team, i.e., Pedri. When asked about his comparisons with the Canarian, the Spaniard said:

“Pedri is Pedri. He isn’t a mix of anything. He has his qualities, his virtues, and things to keep growing and improving because he’s very young, although he’s very decisive for Barça and the national team. The beautiful thing is that if you watch him on TV, you marvel at what he does, how effortlessly he does it, with simplicity and naturalness. It’s a joy that he’s at Barça for the culés and in the national team for all Spaniards.”

Lastly, the former midfielder also talked about Ronald Araujo, who has been suffering from some mental issues and is currently on a leave of absence:

“Situations and circumstances in life happen, have happened, and will continue to happen. It often occurs in everyday life. It’s about awareness of these types of problems that people go through. As much as possible, one should seek help from professionals who can assist in these situations, and from there find the strength to move forward. Fortunately, many people do, but it’s also about social awareness of how we handle things, how we speak about them, and how we manage them. Many factors lead to that moment.”

Hopefully, Araujo will take Iniesta’s advice and turn to a professional to get over his mental issues as soon as possible. Meanwhile, his opinion on Messi’s return is also telling, but the fans would still be hoping to see the Argentine once again playing for Barcelona before he hangs up his boots.

Furthermore, Barcelona’s recent recovery in form has also caught the attention of sports analysts and bettors. According to DraftKings odds, where you can bet not just on basketball but many other sports too, the team is currently favored in upcoming La Liga fixtures, reflecting the strong turnaround under Hansi Flick and the squad’s growing confidence.
