The month of February is shaping up to be a decisive period for FC Barcelona. With important fixtures scheduled in both La Liga and the Copa del Rey, the Catalan giants will be eager to maintain momentum and assert their authority across competitions.

However, doing so requires Hansi Flick to have his key players fit and available. Following the recent league victory over Elche, some concern emerged regarding the fitness of club captain and star forward Raphinha. Those concerns have now been addressed by the club, though the update brings unwelcome news.

FC Barcelona have officially confirmed that Raphinha is suffering from an overload in the adductor muscle of his right leg. As a precautionary measure, the Brazilian winger will miss the upcoming Copa del Rey clash against Albacete, with his recovery period expected to last around one week.

This setback not only rules him out of the cup fixture but also places his availability for the next La Liga match against RCD Mallorca at the Spotify Camp Nou in doubt.

While the timing of this enforced absence is far from ideal, especially given Raphinha’s importance to the team, it is not the end of the world.

FC Barcelona have a talented squad, and it is now Hansi Flick’s responsibility to get the best out of his available players against opponents the Catalan giants should be considered favourites to beat, with or without their South American talisman.
