FC Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has recently withdrawn from international duty and is set to miss Spain’s game against Bulgaria due to a muscle overload. However, the injury is not deemed serious, and he is expected to be fit for the Girona game.

The Spaniard recently reached the milestone of playing his 50th game for La Roja against Georgia. Ferran had the chance to score from the spot, but failed to do so. Regardless, he would have celebrated Spain’s win.

Meanwhile, according to Mundo Deportivo, the 25-year-old could hit yet another 50, but this time in Blaugrana colours. Ferran currently has 49 goals for Barcelona and, against Girona, he could reach his half-century.

Ferran has grown by leaps and bounds under Hansi Flick in the past 14 months. He is Barcelona’s leading goalscorer this season and has been starting games as the No. 9 ahead of Lewandowski, including the one against PSG.

He is in excellent scoring form, and one would not put it past him to get the job done against Girona. The Catalan rivals are not enjoying the best of times, and Ferran could look to put them to the sword as Barcelona look to return to winning ways.

Of course, all this depends on how he recovers from his muscle overload. If he is fit enough to start the game against Girona, Flick will need him to come good, with Olmo out injured and Raphinha, Lamine, and Fermin all recovering from injuries. Let us wait and see how the Spaniard pulls up in the coming days.
