FC Barcelona are actively working to register several players ahead of the new season, including Joan Garcia, Wojciech Szczesny, Marcus Rashford, and Gerard Martin.
While the absence of Marc-Andre ter Stegen due to injury was initially seen as the most straightforward solution, the club is also preparing alternative paths amid ongoing complications.
Ter Stegen’s medical absence could allow Barcelona to unlock salary margin under La Liga regulations by reallocating a portion of his wages. However, due to the goalkeeper’s refusal to sign off on the required documents, the club is no longer relying solely on that option.
Barcelona turn to three key financial levers

Instead, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are focusing on a broader strategy that involves three key financial mechanisms. These include the salary space created from recent player exits, which has freed up approximately 21 million euros.
In addition, the club is banking on the revenue from a new sponsorship agreement with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
A third source of funding is also awaiting approval. It involves a capital injection of €100 million through the monetisation of 475 VIP seats at the renovated Spotify Camp Nou. This operation still requires validation from external auditors and La Liga before it can be applied.
However, following the conclusion of the recent preseason tour with the win over Daegu FC, Barcelona need to hurry up. There is not much time left before the start of the official season, and the Catalan club cannot afford to replicate the Dani Olmo debacle that happened last season.
