FC Barcelona have a huge summer ahead of them, and they are just getting started. The arrival of Joan Garcia from Espanyol is all but done, and it is only a matter of time before the Catalan club announces it officially.
The next player Barcelona seem to be after this summer is Nico Williams. The Catalan club wanted to sign the 22-year-old last summer from Athletic Bilbao, but he turned them down in favor of staying at the Basque club for another season.
This time around, it is the player who has made an effort to join Barcelona, approaching them about a potential transfer. Deco & Co. has seen this as a positive sign and has started working towards making this move happen.
Nico Williams at Barcelona?

Now, as per SPORT, it is not just Nico who wants to join the Catalan club. The players within the Barcelona dressing room are also pushing for the club to sign the Spanish winger, which is understandable considering the rapport he shares with some of the players.
It is no secret that Nico shares an excellent relationship with Alejandro Balde and Lamine Yamal, both of whom have shown in recent days on social media that they would like to have the 22-year-old at the club, but he also gets along well with Pau Cubarsi, Fermin Lopez, and Dani Olmo.
Excellent addition!

Nico is coming off a very decent season, playing 45 games across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 7 assists. He started off the campaign slightly slowly but picked up pace as the months went on, also playing an important role in the Nations League, where Spain ended up runners-up.
To sign the Spanish winger, Barcelona will have to trigger his release clause, as Athletic Bilbao are never a club that makes it easy during negotiations. However, the Catalan club has the player’s willingness and could wrap this deal up very easily.
Ultimately, it all comes down to whether Barcelona find it financially viable to sign Nico Williams and if FFP allows them to register him for the upcoming season. The next few days could prove to be crucial, and it remains to be seen how it goes.
