FC Barcelona have had quite a mixed summer so far. The Catalans started strongly, as they successfully signed the Spanish goalkeeper Joan Garcia after paying his €25 million release clause to RCD Espanyol.
However, they then faced a significant setback as their primary candidate for strengthening the left wing, Nico Williams, decided to renew his contract with Athletic Club, despite having been strongly linked with the Blaugrana club.
Bayern Munich making progress in negotiations for Luis Diaz

For now, Barcelona have set their sights on other targets as they continue to look for ways to strengthen their attack. As was the case at the start of the summer, the Liverpool winger Luis Diaz is once again their preferred candidate for this purpose.
However, getting him will also not be easy, and as SPORT has noted, the fact that the German giants Bayern Munich also have him in their sights makes this operation even difficult for the Blaugranes.
As things stand, the €70 million-rated Colombian star is in favor of joining the Bavarian club, and the Bundesliga side is making continuous progress in its negotiations with Liverpool.
The Merseyside club is asking for around €70-80 for his signing, a figure that Bayern are thinking about paying, as they want another decisive player in their attack to accompany Harry Kane.
Marcus Rashford remains the only realistic option for Barcelona

However, Barcelona consider this figure to be too high, and they are planning not to exceed the €60 million mark, an amount similar to Nico Williams’ release clause, including taxes, which they would have paid if the Spaniard had agreed to join them.
With Luis Diaz also seemingly getting out of their hands, the English forward Marcus Rashford remains the only realistic option for the Catalans. The player would cost around €40 million, but the Blaugranes are looking to get him on loan with a purchase option.
Thus, it remains to be seen which new player will come to strengthen the Barcelona attack for the next season, but Luis Diaz increasingly looks to be a difficult signing.
