Lamine Yamal was unable to participate in the fun as FC Barcelona beat Valencia with a 6-0 scoreline in their last league game, as he was unavailable due to a groin injury.

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, the youngster will also not be able to play in the upcoming UEFA Champions League opener for the Blaugrana side, against Newcastle United, which is set to be played today, on Wednesday. Furthermore, he will also remain a serious doubt for the two upcoming games against Getafe and Oviedo.

As things stand, the most optimistic scenario will have him back on the pitch for a few minutes for the match against Real Sociedad. However, as per MD, his main aim is to be 100% fit for the UCL tie against Paris Saint-Germain on 1st October.

The physical problems started for Lamine Yamal in the match against Levante at the start of the season, and then worsened in the ensuing matches, with Barcelona, against Rayo Vallecano, and with the Spanish national team.

He is already undertaking physiotherapy sessions and working to get over this problem, and hopefully, he will be able to play for Barcelona again soon.
