There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Inaki Pena and his future at Barcelona. For now, many believe that the player will end up leaving this summer and it appears to be the most likely conclusion. However, it is interesting to see which club he could end up joining.
One of the clubs that the exit-bound Spanish goalkeeper has been linked to is Italian side Como. Coincidentally, the Serie A team is also the opponent for Barça in the upcoming Joan Gamper Trophy game.
That is why, ahead of the game, Como coach and former Barça player Cesc Fabregas was asked about this topic. As quoted by Mundo Deportivo, the Spaniard ended up giving a diplomatic answer in which he kept things open but also did not commit to anything:
“I don’t like to talk about the market, but if there’s an opportunity, we’ll see, we’ll analyze it. I hope all great players can fit into our dynamic and be competitive.”

However, Fabregas also clarified that all great players are welcome at Como, so that possibly implies that the door is open if someone can manage to catch his eye:
“All great players are welcome, especially those who can really understand the idea: helping in the build-up, being dominant… You need players who feel it.”
Beyond this conversation about Inaki Pena, Fabregas also spoke about other topics ahead of the match. For both Como and Barça, this promises to be an exciting encounter and fans of the two teams will be eager to see their own players in action.
