There is almost never a quiet day at Barcelona, and things always seem to be happening. As of right now, most of the focus was on the recent Copa del Rey final. In that particular game, despite facing off against eternal rivals Real Madrid, Barcelona managed to defeat their determined opponents.
Many players put in strong performances, and the game-winning moments were undeniably sensational to watch. However, this game could have easily gone in some other direction had it not been for Jules Kounde’s surreal strike from distance that found the back of the net in extra time to give Barcelona a 3-2 lead.
Originally signed from Sevilla back in 2022, the Frenchman has become a regular starter for the Catalan giants since joining. However, he rejected Premier League side Chelsea back then to ensure that the club he ended up joining was none other than Barça.
Still, it would appear that the London-based side is still hoping to sign the 26-year-old French defender if possible. As per the information provided by TBR Football (h/t Caughtoffside), Chelsea have reportedly been in contact with Kounde’s representatives over the last two and a half years.

They would still love to sign the player, even though they know that he is a key player for Barcelona. Moreover, clubs such as Arsenal are also interested in the services of the player, reportedly even preparing an offer worth around £55 million (€64 million) for him.
Both London-based clubs seem to see Kounde as a strong target, and someone who could improve their respective defensive structures. Moreover, with Barça having their own financial troubles in recent years, they may believe that the right offer could take him away.
Ideally, however, Barcelona would not like to part ways with the French defender. He is far too important to their system and their plans for the future do not involve letting him go. Moreover, his recent goal and performance against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final would have undoubtedly made his importance to the team even clearer.
