Despite already having completed their highest-priority operation, i.e., the signing of the goalkeeper Joan Garcia, FC Barcelona are still expected to have quite a busy summer transfer window.

After tying down the goalie, the Catalans are now looking to add the Athletic Club winger Nico Williams to their team, and are also very close to completing the signing of the Swedish forward Roony Bardghji.

Meanwhile, the Blaugranes are also working on some exit operations, mainly to generate the required FFP margin to register their new signings, and in some cases, to ensure the growth of their young players by finding new clubs for them where they can get more regular game time.

The Barcelona Sporting Director Deco recently appeared in an interview, and his comments gave some indications on the course the Catalans are set to take in the market in the coming months.

In one of his comments, the Portuguese official stated clearly that one of the five centre-backs in the Blaugrana squad will leave. As things stand, Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi are set to be the starters for Hansi Flick next season, and Eric Garcia is also valued highly because of his versatility.

Thus, Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen are the two defenders who can leave, and the Uruguayan is higher up in Flick’s plans than the Dane.

AC Milan are now interested in the Barcelona defender

In such a context, Mundo Deportivo reports that the Italian side AC Milan is interested in the Danish centre-back as they look to reinforce their defence. Their primary target is the 18-year-old Parma defender Giovani Leoni, but they also want an experienced centre-back who can improve their team right away.

Thus, they are looking to take advantage of Christensen’s situation and are looking to get him at an affordable price. This would also be a welcome move for Barcelona as they got the €12 million-rated Dane for free, and anything they get in fees for him would be a profit.

For now, Andreas Christensen himself has not given any indications about his future, and it remains to be seen where he will be playing next season.
