This season, FC Barcelona have once again emerged as one of the most exciting teams in Europe and are among the favorites to win all the big trophies in Spain and Europe.
As a result of their improved performances and enhanced chances of winning the big trophies, the Catalan side is generating even more interest from top players who want to play for one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
According to SPORT, this is particularly true for the English forward Marcus Rashford, whose entourage has informed the Blaugranes that he would be keen to join them if they are interested in his services.
Barcelona were already negotiating with Rashford in the last winter transfer window, but ultimately the move could not materialise as the Sporting Department wanted to focus more on renewals, and the Englishman ended up joining Aston Villa on loan.
The winger is having a very good second half of the season with the Villans, and in these last months has showcased he has the ability to play for the Catalan side.
The Blaugrana club currently does not see the €50 million-rated player as a priority, but remains attentive to him as he can play across the forward line, and can pique their interest if he is willing to lower his salary.
Hansi Flick also appreciates Rashford a lot, but both he and Deco are clear that they have enough firepower in their squad, and should focus on strengthening other areas of the team.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa also want to keep him, and his price is expected to be around €40 million, with the player highly unlikely to continue at Manchester United. But like Barcelona, Villa would also want to see his salary, which is currently one of the highest in the Premier League, reduced before he permanently joins them.
Robert Lewandowski’s injury at this crucial phase of the season can change the Blaugranes’ mind about Rashford, but for now, it remains to be seen which players and positions the Catalans will look to address this summer.
