FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain will lock heads in what is set to be one of the most anticipated UEFA Champions League games this season. For both teams, this is truly a big occasion and match.

Despite being the home team at the Montjuic Stadium, Barça are not exactly any kind of favorites in this game. Instead, in what promises to be an even match-up on paper, things could get quite interesting and the situation could constantly end up changing during the course of the game.

FC Barcelona vs Paris Saint-Germain – Match Details

  • Date: Wednesday, 1st October 2025
  • Competition: UEFA Champions League
  • Matchday: 2
  • Time: 21:00 (CEST)
  • Venue: Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys
  • Referee: Michael Oliver

Match Overview:

Both teams ended up winning their first games of their UEFA Champions League so far. Barça managed to beat Newcastle United away from home at St. James’ Park, while PSG managed to decimate Atalanta at home in their first game.

Now, however, comes the first real test in this season’s UCL League Phase for both teams. Moreover, this is an encounter that has been highly anticipated since last season considering that many people recognise these two teams as the best in the world right now.

In terms of form, Barça have just slightly been better. Still undefeated across all competitions, La Blaugrana have five wins from their last five games, including the aforementioned win over Newcastle United and wins over the likes of Real Sociedad, Real Oviedo, Getafe, and Valencia.

Moreover, across those five games, Hansi Flick’s side has scored 16 goals and has conceded just three in return. A very positive goal difference, but PSG’s record is nothing to scoff at either.

The Parisians have won four of their last five games, and only lost one match in which they faced off against rivals Marseille. Still, they have managed to score 14 goals across those five games and have conceded only four goals in return.

Unfortunately, both teams will be missing some crucial players as well. For PSG, the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue, and Marquinhos will not be available. Similarly, Raphinha, Joan Garcia, Fermin Lopez, and Gavi are all unavailable for Barça as well.

Either way, this game promises to be a lot of fun and an exciting contest between two of Europe’s best teams right now. With injuries negatively impacting both teams, both coaches will see their squad depth and versatility tested to their absolute limits.
