Marc Bernal was one of the FC Barcelona players who got a share of glory as the Blaugranes beat Newcastle United 7-2 in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

The Spaniard scored his side’s second goal, making the scoreline 2-1, in the 18th minute, and with this striker, he has now scored in La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the UCL in 2026.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the midfielder also talked to the media after this game and commented on how this has been a dream scenario for him:

“As a kid, I used to come to Camp Nou as a fan, and now, enjoying it from the inside with the supporters is like living a dream. My goals? I couldn’t have even imagined it.”

The La Masia graduate also revealed what instructions Hansi Flick had given his team to overcome the Magpies in the second leg of the round:

“We knew they were going to press, we already saw that in the first leg. Flick told us at halftime to have the personality to keep the ball, that we were playing at home. From there, we controlled the game more, and they dropped off a bit.”

With this performance, Marc Bernal once again showcased his amazing talents, and also added another goal to his record. These goals can come to be quite valuable as Barcelona reach the business end of the season, and hopefully, the youngster will continue playing at this level for a long time.
