FC Barcelona have not exactly been allowed to go about this season without dealing with complications away from the pitch. For the first time in a long time, La Blaugrana are looking like one of the main heavyweights of European football again. However, that does not mean that the issues of their past have left Barcelona.
While their transfer market complications remain alive, the club has managed to work around them. However, even when their Financial Fairplay was questioned, Barcelona managed to ensure the sale of VIP section seats to avoid dealing with that mess as well.
All of these operations and movements were done by the club to ensure a smooth progression of things during this season. In order to fully register both of their two summer signings, Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, the Catalan giants definitely had to make sacrifices.
Unfortunately, it seems now that La Liga still has an issue with their registrations despite the favorable ruling from the CSD that the club received. Recently, even Barcelona president Joan Laporta publicly stated that he stood against what La Liga is saying and plans to retaliate.
Now, ahead of the next match-day in La Liga, even Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was asked about the registration issues still haunting Barcelona. As highlighted by Barça Times, the Italian coach stated that the registration of Dani Olmo is not something that he believes has adulterated the league:
“No, I don’t think so.”
Comparing from the coach of a direct rival club, that simply suggests that while La Liga is trying its hardest to make things difficult for Barcelona, other teams are not that bothered. While instances like the complaint from CA Osasuna are anomalies, it is primarily Javier Tebas and the Spanish league that have an issue.
For now, however, Barcelona have the favor of the CSD in terms of their final decision. Both Dani Olmo and Pau Victor are set to remain registered until the end of the season, and that greatly helps out the team irrespective of what La Liga believes or tries to do.
As for Hansi Flick and his team, the primary focus remains on what happens on the pitch rather than what happens away from it. Dani Olmo is currently out injured, but there is no doubt within the club that he will continue to be a key player for Barcelona once he returns during the decisive stretch of the season.
