FC Barcelona have already shown their intent to further strengthen their team ahead of the 2025-26 season by signing the goalkeeper Joan Garcia, and making significant progress in their pursuit of the winger Nico Williams.

However, the Catalans will have to ensure some departures from their team to get these new players registered with La Liga for the next season.

In this regard, one of the players that is quite likely to depart the Blaugrana club is the midfielder Pablo Torre, even though Barcelona have decided on this departure not only to gain FFP margin but also to ensure the continued growth and development of the young midfielder.

The Blaugrana Sporting Directors are clear that Torre needs continuous game time to continue his development, something that is not possible in this Barcelona team. However, keeping in view their confidence in the player’s potential, they also want to remain in control of his future and do not want to lose him completely.

In this context, Mundo Deportivo reports that the La Liga club RCD Mallorca is among the best-positioned sides to sign the Spaniard, and the Islanders are already negotiating with the Catalan club for this purpose.

The formula yet to be finalized

However, the two clubs are yet to finalize the formula for Torre’s departure, as Barcelona want to retain control over his future. Initially, a loan was being considered by the club, but a purchase with a buyback option is also not ruled out.

The midfielder joined the Blaugrana club back in 2022, and then spent the 2023-24 season away on loan at Girona. He returned to play under Hansi Flick last season, but opportunities were quite scarce, even though he impressed in the limited opportunities he got.

Now, Barcelona are looking for a new destination for Pablo Torre where he can find a competitive environment to develop further. Hopefully, this task will be achieved soon, so the player can have the upcoming pre-season with his future team.
