FC Barcelona still have a match to play before they can end their 2024-25 season, but keeping in view this match’s low stakes, the season seems to be practically over for the Blaugranes. As a result, the Catalans can now focus on the next season and the upcoming summer transfer window.

Barcelona will be looking to strengthen several weak areas of the team in this summer transfer window, but to get their desired signings, they will also have to ensure the sales of some of their players, especially those who are not going to be a part of Hansi Flick’s plans going forward.

Another forgettable season for Ansu Fati

One player who meets this criteria quite well is the Spanish forward Ansu Fati, who has had another season with very little prominence, as he was one of the players with the lowest number of minutes on the pitch, and had not even been called up for several matches by Flick despite being fit and available.

As a result, his future at the Blaugrana club is highly uncertain. Meanwhile, some clubs across Europe have shown an interest in the forward.

Monaco interested in the forward

According to Mundo Deportivo, one such side is the French club AS Monaco, which has taken some steps to incorporate the 22-year-old winger to strengthen its squad for the next season.

The French side finished 3rd in Ligue 1 this season, and thus, has qualified directly for the League Phase of the UEFA Champions League. They had also played in this year’s UCL, and they actually beat Barcelona on the opening day of the competition.

In this game, Ansu Fati was able to play only the last two minutes. However, in the Joan Gamper Trophy match in August, the Spaniard was unable to participate as he was still suffering from plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

In a recent interview, Deco had left the door open for a departure for Ansu Fati. However, it remains to be seen on what terms the forward leaves the club and which side he will play for next season.
