FC Barcelona have the chance to go atop the La Liga table, as the current leaders, Real Madrid, dropped points last night in their 5-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid.
As things stand, the Blaugranes are only 2 points behind the Merengues on the league table, and three points from their game against Real Sociedad tonight will put them in the top position.
However, getting this win against La Reale will not really be easy, as they have quite a strong team, even though they are sitting 17th in the table at this point after getting only 1 win so far this La Liga season.
FC Barcelona will also be without some of their important players. The Catalan club has released its squad for this game, and players like Joan Garcia, Raphinha, Gavi, Alejandro Balde, Fermin Lopez, and Marc Andre ter Stegen all remain out of the list.
On the other hand, Lamine Yamal has been named on the squad list, and he can get some minutes in this match to gain some rhythm ahead of the upcoming crunch game against Paris Saint-Germain.
