FC Barcelona are set to play a highly important game tonight as they face Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

The Catalans beat the same rivals on Saturday in La Liga and will be looking to do so again tonight, especially as they will be playing at Spotify Camp Nou.

It promises to be a highly exciting day for Blaugrana fans, who will once again be hoping to see their team deliver a memorable performance. However, the day did not begin entirely smoothly, as there was a brief moment of concern earlier involving Fermin Lopez.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the 22-year-old midfielder suffered a minor cut to his head during the morning activation session, which disrupted his routine ahead of the match.

As a result of this incident, the Spaniard did not arrive with the rest of the squad at the team hotel and instead joined the group separately later. This initially raised some concern, especially given the importance of the fixture.

However, there is no major cause for worry. The injury is minor and is not expected to have any impact on his involvement. Fermín remains available to Hansi Flick and is in contention to feature in this crucial European clash.

Thus, while the incident added a brief moment of concern, Barcelona continue their preparations with full focus on securing a strong result in the first leg at home.
