FC Barcelona has long been a club defined by star power and global icons. Across generations, the Catalan giants have consistently featured players who not only elevate the team on the pitch but also expand its influence worldwide.

Whether developed at La Masia, like Lionel Messi, or signed as international superstars, like Ronaldinho, Barça has always had standout figures at the heart of its identity.

Now, with the 2026 presidential elections approaching, Joan Laporta is determined to continue that legacy. According to Fichajes, the Barcelona president is working on shaping his re-election campaign around a bold promise: to secure a marquee signing capable of leading the club into its next great era.

1. Erling Haaland – The Dream Target

The player at the very top of that list is Erling Haaland. Currently a player for Manchester City, Laporta and Barcelona would reportedly be willing to offer around €120 million for him, and the president is confident that the club’s improved finances would facilitate that arrival.

2. Julian Alvarez – The Ambitious Plan B

An alternative to Haaland would be Julian Alvarez, who has been consistently linked to the club in recent times. Yet another ambitious operation, the Barcelona president and the club would be willing to make an offer that exceeds the €100 million mark.

3. Bradley Barcola – The Rising Star

Lastly, the third name on the list is that of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola. As one of the most exciting talents to emerge out of France in recent times, his skills and dribbling ability are traits that Barcelona seems to appreciate. In his case, the club could consider a transfer fee between €80-100 million.

For now, however, the club needs to manage its finances and spending accordingly. Having just wrapped up their preseason tour by defeating Daegu FC, the club is now prioritising player registrations above all else.
