FC Barcelona are working on several operations this summer and some are still pending. The Catalan giants have been monitoring both signings and exits, but certain operations are more of a priority for now. In fact, even Barcelona president Joan Laporta clarified that no more signings are expected.

As for player exits, several operations remain on the table and are to be resolved in the coming weeks. Some are more clear and have been thoroughly assessed as exit operations that are currently being worked on, while others are still being sorted.

Certain departures have already taken place, with the likes of Pau Victor joining Braga this summer and Pablo Torre having joined RCD Mallorca. However, beyond just the ongoing operation concerning Jan Virgili, there might be a new exit operation on the table as well potentially.

According to SPORT, Barcelona are now open to offloading 18-year-old right-back Hector Fort this summer. Instead of a loan deal, the club would reportedly prefer a permanent transfer for the player to primarily generate some revenue.

After all, given the player’s background within the club’s youth system, any sale for him would be pure profit for Barça. Moreover, considering his position within the squad right now, it does not exactly make sense to simply keep him stuck to the bench either.

With Jules Kounde clearly being Barça’s starting right-back and Eric Garcia being the player that Hansi Flick trusts as his alternative option, Fort’s opportunities in this team are going to be extremely limited. Moreover, even against Vissel Kobe recently, Fort was among the few players that had no involvement in the game whatsoever.

The club wants to retain some level of control

However, if the club does end up parting ways with him, they would still like to keep some level of control over his future. Since Barcelona still has faith in his potential, the inclusion of a potential buy-back clause or sell-on clause could be added as well. After all, the player’s dream remains to succeed at the Catalan club.

As for interest in the player, he reportedly remains an attractive option for many European clubs as per the report. Moreover, due to his ability to perform even when given very little opportunities, he is a player that clubs continue to keep an eye on.
