The same rumours and links continue to revolve around FC Barcelona every day. Despite all the noise surrounding the Catalan club, their objective remains to bring in a new winger this summer. However, there has been little to no progress on that end for Barcelona yet.

While certain notable names have been mentioned and are being assessed by the club, this whole saga is taking way longer than what most people expected. In fact, reports suggest that the arrival of a new winger could even take until August.

As of right now, however, the club’s priority is to generate important revenue and also free up as much space as possible. After all, the registration issues concerning Dani Olmo and Pau Victor last season are something that Barça does not want to deal with this summer.

Now, however, a fresh update from Fabrizio Romano provides some less-than-ideal news. As per the Italian journalist, Barcelona are yet to decide which of the two wingers they are to pursue this summer and devote their full efforts towards.

On one hand, the Marcus Rashford operation remains fully open and feasible. The player has been told by Manchester United that he is not in their plans and the player’s own intention is to join Barcelona considering that it is his dream destination.

As for the operation concerning Luis Diaz, that is one that continues to be restricted by Liverpool for now despite the journalist clarifying that he remains the dream target for the Catalan club. According to Romano, the English side is aware of the interest from both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but is not too eager about losing Diaz to either club just yet.

A final decision might need to come soon

Ultimately, it is still up to Barcelona to decide which transfer objective they wish to pursue properly this summer. While other reports suggest that even both players could simultaneously be targeted, it would perhaps be better if La Blaugrana can focus on one singular target first.

When it comes to the deal involving Rashford, however, it seems that Hansi Flick has already approved as well. Reportedly, the Barcelona coach gave the green light for the operation some time ago, but other reports are now suggesting that the Englishman could have other suitors as well potentially.
